My Commitment:
Regardless of what others think, say or do, in every moment, relationship, circumstance and condition, I undertake:
- To recognize I have the opportunity and the responsibility to sow peace;
- To remember I am demonstrating and expressing who I am by the choices that I make;
- To realize my thoughts, words and actions are powerfully creative and have far-reaching effects, therefore, I choose them consciously.
And in my relationships - both at home and at work - I will consciously:
- Release judgment & justification. Embrace acceptance and alignment.
- Release constriction. Embrace expansion of mind, spirit and expression.
- Release rightness. Embrace collaboration.
I live by the Sow Peace golden rule, "Give only what you are willing to receive in life." I publicly commit to sow peace, every day, in every way.

As you know it very well the golden rule, with roots in a wide range of world cultures, is well suited to be a standard to which different cultures in our world could appeal in resolving conflicts. As the world becomes more and more a single interacting global community, the need for such a common standard is becoming more urgent. Therefore it is a high time to bring together more than ever the voices of people from all religions to remind the world that while all faiths are not the same, they all share the core principle of the Golden Rule. As it has been pointed out in the charter of compassion unless we learn to implement the Golden Rule globally, we will not be able to live together in peace and harmony. We are living in an era where we are more connected to one another closely than at any previous time in history. A practically expressed respect for others is now essential for a healthy economy and for the survival of our species. Any ideology that breeds hatred or contempt (be it religious or secular) is failing the test of our time. We urgently need to find ways of making the Golden Rule a vibrant force in our thinking and behavior locally, nationally, regionally, internationally, politically, socially, economically as well as in private life. It is with this core principle that I am working to promote the Golden Rule at national level in Ethiopia, regional level in Africa and international level through the United Nations to make it a guiding principle to create a better world for all living beings and Mother Earth.
